The East Highland Way is a long-distance walking route starting from Fort William and running north-east for 132 km (82 miles) to Aviemore.

The path follows the River Spean upstream through Spean Bridge to the eastern end of Loch Laggan. A little further, near Feagour, the it crosses the east-west watershed, passing the strategic location of an ancient hill-fort, Dun da lamh, to join the headwaters of the River Spey. From here the route descends gradually through Newtonmore and Kingussie to Aviemore, with scenic deviations to the north and south.

The images here include the information pack from the tour company which organised the trip as well as from the train journey out from and returning to Edinburgh Waverley station.
