Welcome to my website

I have been taking photographs since my youth. Photography has documented and supported my life, work and independent projects. It has provided a visual notebook of people and places.

A selection of these images is shown here.

Qualification and early work

I studied at the highly-respected School of Photography in Harrow College of Technology and Art (now part of the University of Westminster), specialising in scientific and industrial applications. While there, I began work in the photographic industry as a studio and darkroom assistant then moving into product testing and technical support for several photographic manufacturers. This later transformed into in UK- and export sales, in particular for 'bespoke' customer requirements.

Professional qualification and experience led to Associateship of both the Institute of Incorporated Photographers (now the British Institute of Professional Photography) as well as The Royal Photographic Society. I also had voluntary roles in the Society, as Editor (2015-20) of Analogue magazine, and on the Education Committee (2018-9).

Later work

With changes in the industry I used my experience to diversify into other fields and, after period of transition, became a teacher, studying and working overseas as well as in the UK.
